An afternoon with food & drinks and time together. The celebration will take place outdoors in Kay and Barry’s beautiful field and gardens. We are expecting a glorious Vermont summer day, with a tent in place as a precaution. Summer party attire encouraged. Think linens, chinos, and sundresses—festive, light, and polished. No registry, no gifts, your presence is the present.
Getting to Bellows Falls
Bradley International Airport in Hartford, CT is about 1.5 hours away. Albany and Boston Airports are both about 2.5 hours away. There is a Bellows Falls Amtrak station on the Vermonter route.
Lodging nearby
Best Western in Springfield is the most conveniently located standard hotel. Check out rentals in nearby towns of Bellows Falls, Chester, Rockingham, and Springfield, or a little farther in Ludlow, Woodstock, and Walpole.
Things to do
Stop at the Vermont Country Store for cheese, candy, or cookie buttons. Go antiquing at Stone House. Step back into the eighteenth century at The Fort at No 4. Take a hard, steep hike to the top of Okemo Mountain, or drive up and climb the fire tower. Cool off with a swim at Buttermilk Falls, and get a maple creemee at Green Mountain Sugar House.
If you have more time, make a pilgrimage to the King Arthur flagship. Tour the home, studio, and gardens of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. View the largest public collection of works by Grandma Moses at the Bennington Museum. Find a deal at the Marimekko outlet. Experience a Shaker Round Barn, a General Store, a carousel, the 220-foot sidewheel steamboat Ticonderoga, and more all at the Shelburne Museum.
